UNICEF CRC Video Contest-20th Anniversary

It’s the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. In 1989, world leaders decided that children needed a special convention just for them because people under 18 years old often are neglected in the human rights debate. The leaders wanted to make sure that the world recognized that children have human rights too. As a result, the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) was developed. After thousands of submissions and votes. MJF and Free the Children had the task to choose the winners of the Me to We Pic and Vid contest. We are happy to announce the following winners: Rachel Rothgery for here winning photo! and Sarah Inglis, who is not new to the winners circle at MJF for her winning film! Both Sarah and Rachael will be receiving $250 in cash to go towards a social project of their choice, as well as tones of MJF and FTC swag. Plan Canada invites you to look past all the reasons that changing the world is hard and think about how your ideas can make things better.

Pangea Day was an international multimedia event conducted on May 10, 2008. Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Rio de Janeiro were linked to produce a 4-hour program of films, music and speakers. The program was broadcast live across the globe from 1800 to 2200 UTC, culminating in a global drum circle, symbolizing the common heartbeat of the world.
